This is where the problems lie i think.... the upper shell fell out when i moved the piston (coincedence??!?! ) The piston ring is my fault damn delicate hands of mine

deff seems to be No1 (in my opinion)
seems the be metal swarf stuck to the underside on the piston
the top shell is badly worn too.... you can feel the difference in the two visable surfaces (light shiney, and the darker one)

you need a valve compressor to take the load off the spring !! you should know that !
Then you take the collett out and release the cap and spring
