Hi guys
not been on the forum for a while due to not a lot going on car wise since this...

but just before christmas I bought myself this......









its a 2002 mk4 Astra estate 1.6 8v with the z16se engine

it was cheap due to it having done 237000 miles....yes thats right 237k miles

but its clean and tidy and the body is completely rust free, the subframe and suspension have some minor rust.

so the plans, hence this thread, for the coming year are

v6 engine conversion
bigger alloys
lowering
gsi front bumper
boot spoiler
suspension removal and overhaul
and anything else that pops up in the meantime

nothing new on the Alvis....its been out for a drive every month through the winter.

had some second hand goodies delivered today.....

astra 2.0 SRI rear axel with discs and calipers.
astra 2.0 SRI front subframe with wishbones, steering rack and brakes.
all are 5 stud and all need refurbishment but it saves taking the car off the road.
I can refurb these in my workshop then just swap them over.

I'll get some photos posted up tommorow.

well its been a while since I promised photos due to me not having a clue how to get photos off my phone

but here's what's been going on so far......

a trip to Burnley and the wallet £100 lighter...and I got this....






block stripped and degreasing in progress....



block honed, cleaned and a lick of paint...






cylinder head stripping for rebuild.....











gearbox (f23) degreasing.....







and how it all looks today....built up on a spare Astra SRI subframe......










looking pretty good if I may say so
